4 November 2009: Ergo Asia announced as External Print Manager
The QGCPO has announced Ergo Asia as the Queensland Government external print manager, as part of the Print Management Solution
The external print manager will deploy and manage the online print management system, part of the overall Print Management Solution. The external print manager will perform functions including:
- provision of an electronic interface and workflow technology between agencies and suppliers (the Print Management System)
- training users of the system
- matching accredited suppliers to specific print-product requirements
- capturing and reporting print usage by spend, product type, agency and supplier
- provision of advice to agencies around print specifications
- regularly providing feedback to suppliers
- managing the ongoing performance of suppliers.
The centralisation and coordination of all Government print procurement through the Print Management Unit will enable all departments and agencies to obtain the 'best price of the day'. It is anticipated that the new system will lead to savings of approximately 25% per annum.
Phase one implementation through three identified agencies will be launched before the end of 2009. It is anticipated that the Print Management System will be introduced to all remaining agencies throughout 2010.
