Background

In December 2007, the Service Delivery and Performance Commission (SDPC) delivered a report on Purchasing and Logistics in the Queensland Government. The SDPC recommended the establishment of a whole-of-government Print Management Solution to provide a coordinated and centralised approach to print management across the sector that would realise significant benefits and savings for the Queensland Government.

The SDPC’s report identified savings of between $14.4 million and $26.4 million per annum based on an estimated government print market of $70 to $80 million a year.

Subsequent to the SDPC recommendations, on 8 October 2008, the Cabinet Budget Review Committee approved the following:
