Procurement and logistics initiative
Overview
The Service Delivery and Performance Commission (SDPC) report, Review of Purchasing and Logistics in the Queensland Government April 2007 was tabled in Queensland Parliament on 9 August 2007. A copy of the report is available at the SDPC's website http://www.thepremier.qld.gov.au/sdpc/reviews.
A significant agenda for change in procurement governance, practices and associated business systems is proposed by the SDPC to improve the outcomes from the sector’s expenditure on supplies, services and capital works.
The Department of Public Works has been given the responsibility to lead the implementation of the recommendations.
The Implementation Office has the responsibility for leading, managing, and monitoring the implementation of all of the recommendations of this Review. It is also:-
- providing advice and assistance to departments with the implementation
- developing detailed costings of the procurement reform initiative
- reporting to Cabinet through the Procurement Board of Management every six months from December 2007
A program of work has been developed and the information on the program updates will be provided at this site.
