There are thousands of green products in the market today. The following links are to databases in Australia which can assist purchasers to buy green products and services.

ECO-Buy

ECO BUY

ECO-Buy is a program that has been implemented in public and private sector organisations to support buying environmentally friendly products. ECO-Buy has been operating with local councils in Victoria for five years and has been highly successful in enabling councils to buy green products. Recently, it has expanded into the business sector including clients such as Toyota Australia.

ECO-Find is an extensive on-line product search of over 500 suppliers of green products. This tool is designed to provide you with information and access to the increasing number of green product suppliers by product search or keyword search.

Finding and comparing the top performing products is easy with Energy Allstars:

Green Procurement Database

Environmental choice

The database provides a list of products that have been awarded the Good Environmental Choice label by the Australian Environmental Labelling Association. The Good Environmental Choice Label is the only environmental labelling program in Australia which indicates the environmental performance of a product from a whole of product life perspective for consumer goods. The label is awarded to products by an independent third party that meet voluntary environmental performance standards which have been created and assessed in conformance to international environmental labelling standards.

The database provides meaningful and quantifiable evaluation of each product's environmental performance in addition to providing contact details and technical information about products.

Ecospecifier

Ecospecifier

Ecospecifier is a guide to eco-preferable products and materials for the construction industry, specifically targeted at the needs of decision makers and specifiers. It responds to the need for greater clarity about what is and is not 'green', for the desire to specify products that will lead to better indoor air quality and wellbeing, and for the growing body of public and private sector clients who want to save energy, water, and use sustainable resources. Ecospecifier is a database of approximately 1000 independently vetted preferable products against 30 common industry categories and 130 sub categories.
