June 2005

TMS project moved into its design stage. Final functionality of the system was agreed with system supplier, HRG Australia. TMS Prototype demonstrations were widely presented to Government audiences.

   
February 2007

Stage 3 - Development commenced along with some testing in the latter months of 2006.  This is the largest and most complex phase of the project which included supplier customisation and development, and the development of interfaces to and from Finance and HR/Payroll systems as well undertaking detailed planning for  User Acceptance Testing, Implementation, and System Training.

Extensive User Acceptance Testing to be completed.
   

Late 2007

TMS rollout a live pilot program to the Department of Public Works

   
2008

TMS rollout to Government Agencies commences (expected to take 18 months). As far are possible the rollout order will follow the implementation of the Shared Services Solutions (SSS).

Officers will be trained in the use of the TMS as close as possible to the system implementation date in individual Agencies.

Queensland Government Chief Procurement Office’s Travel Management Unit worked closely with the system supplier, HRG Australia (formerly known as BTI Australia), to design and customise the Travel Management System (TMS) to ensure compliance with Queensland Government specifications, processes and policies.

At the conclusion of the rollout to Queensland Government agencies, Queensland Government Chief Procurement Office'’s Travel Management Unit propose to rollout the TMS to Government Owned Corporations and Statutory Authorities that currently take advantage of the whole-of-government travel arrangements.
