Travel Management System

Queensland Government Chief Procurement Office's Travel Management Unit is developing a streamlined Queensland Government specific Travel Management System (TMS) that will greatly assist travellers and travel booking officers in arranging work-related travel bookings.

The TMS takes the worry out of policy adherence as all domestic and international travel policies are built into the system and are updated centrally to ensure that they are the most up to date at the time of booking.

The TMS is an online paperless process which will access whole-of-Government arrangements such as:

The TMS will also manage:

The TMS will also provide an extensive suite of travel management reports which will allow individual agencies access to a wide range of travel data not previously available.

The TMS is currently in Phase 3 (development delivery and User Acceptance Testing UAT).  Selected Government Agencies will pilot the TMS in late 2007 with a rollout of the TMS across other State Government Agencies commencing 2008.  The rollout is expected to follow the rollout of the SAP HR/Finance rollout program.

The TMS will provide the State Government with substantial savings in the first five years of operation and reduce much of the administrative detail that is now associated with travel management.
