Travel Management System
The Queensland Government Chief Procurement Office’s Travel Management Unit has developed a streamlined Queensland-Government-specific Travel Management System (TMS) that will greatly assist travellers and travel booking officers in arranging work-related travel bookings.
The TMS is a one-stop shop for booking air travel, accommodation and vehicle hire online and at the same time adheres to whole-of-Government policy that is built into the system and updated centrally to ensure the system is current at the time of booking.
Booking through the Travel Management System provides access to whole-of-Government supply arrangements for:
- domestic air travel
- international air travel
- car hire
- accommodation
The TMS also manages:
- travel policy compliance
- travel approvals
- travel entitlements and acquittals
- expense reconciliation.
An extensive suite of travel management reports are available in the Travel Management System which will allow individual agencies access to a wide range of travel data not previously available.
The Travel Management System will rollout initially to all Queensland Government budget sector agencies. In the first five years of operation it is expected to provide substantial savings and reduce much of the administrative burden that is now associated with travel management.
