Sale by auction
Queensland Government Chief Procurement Office’s Government Disposals team has a Standing Offer Arrangement (SOA100) for auction services in Brisbane, Sunshine Coast, Bundaberg, Gold Coast, Toowoomba, Townsville, Rockhampton and Cairns.
This Standing Offer Arrangement enables Queensland Government agencies to access a panel of providers of auction services, who can auction an unlimited volume of goods or services over a set period at agreed conditions, including price.
How to use the Standing Offer Arrangement
The officer responsible for disposing of agency items completes the Disposals Form (Word, 198kb) as follows:
1. Complete your details where indicated on the Disposals Form.
2. Attach your own list of items using the following headings from the Disposal Form:
- Item Number ID or Catalogue Number (if applicable), description, quantity, condition, code (if known), reserve price (if applicable – not normally used).
3. In the 'Remarks' section, mark one 'YES' or 'NO' with regard to transport.
4. Sign the Disposals Form, where indicated.
5. Lodge with Queensland Government Chief Procurement Office Government Disposals by:

- post to Queensland Government Chief Procurement Office, GPO Box 123, Brisbane, Qld 4001.
6. If you’re disposing of computers, mobile phones or similar media equipment, you will also need to complete the Data Security Form [link to download]. This ensures all confidential information is removed prior to sale. It needs to be signed and lodged with the Disposals Form.
What happens next?
Queensland Government Chief Procurement Office’s Government Disposals will:
- provide a complete audit trail from pick-up through to the proceeds being received from the sale. Government terms and conditions apply to the SOA and your items are covered by a bank guarantee or security deposit which is held by Queensland Government Chief Procurement Office in the possible event of the auction company going into liquidation
- arrange transport and delivery of your items to auction, using an auction centre closest to you to keep transport costs down
- send a "Discrepancy Advice Note" to you if the goods received by the auctioneer do not correspond with the goods outlined on the Disposals Form
- forward all proceeds from the sale (less expenses such as commissions, transport costs etc) to the finance area nominated on your Disposals Form.
