The State Procurement Policy delivers benefits for Government, suppliers and the community through the commitment to three equally ranked objectives: advancing Government Priorities, seeking value for money and purchasing with probity and accountability.
The procurement of goods, services and capital projects can account for between about 20% and 80% of an agency's total expenditure. The procurement activities of the Queensland Government therefore have significant economic and budgetary implications. The framework established by the State Procurement Policy maximises the benefits of government procurement.
